As heavy rainfalls from Typhoon Carina, the local name for Gaemi, battered Manila, churches opened their doors on Wednesday, July 24, to residents displaced by the ensuing floods.
In response to severe flooding from Typhoon Gaemi, locally known as Carina, and monsoon rains, Bishop Honesto Ongtioco of Cubao has ordered parish priests to open their churches to evacuees.
