India: Blood and Care flow in Pondicherry on Palm Sunday

Youth of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Pondicherry, led a Blood Donation and Free Medical Camp on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025.

On Palm Sunday, April 13, the youth of Our Lady of Rosary Church in Pondicherry, south India, led a successful blood donation and free medical camp, marking a new milestone in their service journey.

Supported by JIPMER and the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), the event saw 48 blood donors and nearly 170 beneficiaries of various medical services, including general medicine, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and more.

The Rosary Church Youth Movement (RCYM), formally named in December 2023, has quickly grown into a vibrant force under the guidance of parish priest Fr. Savarimuthu.

With over 1,000 families in the parish, RCYM continues to shine through community outreach, health initiatives, and youth-led missions.

Volunteers managed the entire Palm Sunday event with dedication, drawing praise from doctors and the local community alike.

The camp was held with PIMS and the Earam Education and Rural Development Society.

From blood drives to mental health awareness, RCYM reflects the spirit of active faith and youth-led transformation within the Pondicherry Vicariate.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
