Pope Francis arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, marking a significant moment in the nation's history.

In a historic gesture coinciding with Pope Francis’s Apostolic Visit to Indonesia, the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference (KWI), in collaboration with PT Pos Indonesia, has unveiled a special stamp themed "Pope Francis’s Visit to Indonesia."

Pope Francis is set to make a historic visit to Indonesia as part of his apostolic journey through Southeast Asia and the Pacific from September 2 to 13, 2024.

Pope Francis has established the Diocese of Labuan Bajo in West Manggarai, Flores, Indonesia, following extensive preparation by Bishop Siprianus Hormat, local priests, and the faithful.

Fr. Paulus Budi Kleden, SVD, as Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ende in Indonesia, until now Superior General of the Society of the Divine Word.

Pope Francis appointed Father Hironimus Pakaenoni as the new bishop of the Archdiocese of Kupang on March 9.

"With profound sorrow, we inform the Apostolic Nuncio, Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Nuns, and all the faithful that Mgr. Anton Pain Ratu, SVD, has passed away at the age of 95," said Father Vinsentiun Wun, SVD.

“I am feeling a level of happiness that I have never felt before,” said sister Mary Johanna.

The meeting on "Walking Together Towards a Peaceful Indonesia" discussed international and domestic peace, poverty, justice, corruption, nepotism, social injustice, discrimination, respecting and honoring women and children, and the role of young people in the church.

"Indonesian bishops' annual gathering takes place during three major events in 2024: the XVIth Ordinary Session of the Synod of Bishops in Rome will end in October; the elections of the president and vice president of Indonesia will take place on February 14; and IBC will celebrate its 100th anniversary on May 15, according to Bishop Antonius Subianto Bunjamin, OSC.
