India: Don Bosco College Student Wins 2nd Prize at State Youth Parliament, Advances to Nationals

Ms. Kalung Angel, a bright student from Don Bosco College Byndihati, has made her institution and state proud by securing second prize at the State-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 held in Shillong, Meghalaya, India, on March 27.
The competition took place at the Laitumkhrah International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture in Mawkasiang, attracting enthusiastic participation from young leaders across Meghalaya.
Organized by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), the State Round of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament provided a platform for youth aged 18–25 to engage in critical discussions on national issues.
The event, which commenced at 10:00 AM, focused on key topics:
📌 "75 Years of the Indian Constitution: A Journey of Rights, Duties, and Progress"
📌 "The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A Pledge to Strengthen India’s Constitutional Values"
Ms. Kalung Angel’s outstanding performance and insightful contributions earned her the second position, securing her place among the top three participants selected to represent Meghalaya at the National Level competition.
The National Level competition will bring together the top three participants from each state to discuss the topic: "One Nation, One Election: Simplifying Democracy, Amplifying Progress, Ensuring Stability."
This event provides young voices across the country with a valuable opportunity to contribute to crucial national conversations and influence future policies.
