The Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards honour outstanding Filipino authors in various categories: spirituality, ministry, liturgy, homiletics, family life, youth, children, inspiration, theology, and e-books.

Prior to the Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards name, it began as the Asian Catholic Publishers, Inc. (ACPI), founded by Jaime Cardinal Sin (former Archbishop of Manila), who organized the Catholic Authors’ Awards to recognize the lifetime achievement of Catholic authors in the Philippines.

No award was given from 2002 to 2006. ACPI was dormant for some time owing to the illness and death of Cardinal Sin.

Reorganized in 2006 as the Asian Catholic Communicators, Inc. (ACCI), the association has revived the awards and renamed them the Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards.

In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, other categories in Catholic literature were added. However, in time, due to the increase in the number of entries for the Theology and Liturgy categories, ACCI decided to emphasize both by separating them into two individual categories and doing away with the Emerging Author Award because new entries are equally given the chance to be nominated in any of the specified categories listed.

The first Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards were given out in October 2007.

The Cardinal Sin Catholic Book Awards recognize authors and publishers whose work promotes total human development, Gospel values, and Filipino culture through the effective use of the latest communications technology in book publishing.- Santosh Digal

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
