India: Over 1500 Catholics attend spiritually uplifting Lenten mission in Adoni

Over 1500 faithful gathered at Infant Jesus Church in Adoni, Kurnool Diocese, on April 7, 2025, for a Lenten Mission.

Over 1500 Catholics came together for a spiritually enriching Lenten Mission at Infant Jesus Church in Adoni, part of the Kurnool Diocese, Andhra Pradesh, south India, on April 7.

The gathering began with a heartfelt welcome from Father Kola Vijayraj, dean of Adoni Deanery, who highlighted the importance of Lent in preparing hearts for the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ.

Bishop Gorantla Johannes, OCD, of the Kurnool Catholic Diocese, delivered an inspiring address, urging the faithful to deeply reflect on the sacrifice of Christ and embrace the hope of His resurrection.

His heartfelt message deeply moved the congregation, encouraging a renewed dedication to spiritual growth throughout Lent.

The prayer service concluded with a moment of collective prayer, fostering unity and strengthening the community's bond of faith.

The clergy, including Fr. Chinnappa, Fr. Ravi Chandrapaul, and Fr. Babu, OFM, along with the parish sisters, were also present and actively participated in the mission.

The event culminated with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist—a moment of thanksgiving and spiritual nourishment.
