Pope to Taizé youth: ‘Dare to build a different world’
Pope Francis encouraged young people to embrace listening and welcome those on the margins of society, when he sent his greetings to the 46th European Meeting of Taizé in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
It is an ecumenical gathering of youth from various countries and denominations from December 28 to January 1, themed “Journeying Together.”
The Holy Father emphasized the opportunity for participants to live "the beautiful experience of friendship with God and with others" in the message that Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin delivered. Pray and share the lives of the local people and Church communities.
As the “Body of the Risen Lord is present in the world,” young people are invited to rediscover the art of listening, an act of love that lies at the heart of trust.
“Dare to build a different world, a world of listening, dialogue, and openness,” said Pope Francis, as conflicts and wars continually arise in the world due to lack of listening.
“Work towards the qualitative transformation of our life in societies,” especially by avoiding all forms of “marginalization, closure, exclusion, and rejection” of various categories of people, the Holy Father challenged the youth.
That is when young people can become builders of “cultures, and religions, for a stable and open world.” He encouraged them to commit themselves to living like Jesus, who excluded no one but instead recognized God’s presence in those on the margins of society. (MTV)
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
