IFFAsia celebrates launching mass and rite of commitment of the 14th batch

Batch 14 of IFFAsia with participants of the launching mass

The Institute of Formation Fondacio Asia (IFFAsia) celebrated the launching mass and the rite of commitment of ten students from Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam on Sunday, July 24, at the Radio Veritas Asia Chapel in Manila.

Explaining the Sunday's Gospel, Bishop Roberto Orendain Gaa of Novaliches talked about prayer as the foundation of mission.

"Everything starts with a prayer. And if a mission begins with prayer, that mission comes from God. When mission is set on a well-founded prayer, even if we fail, we’re rejected,  that mission will be successful in the end," said Bishop Gaa.

The students were reminded to carry a prayer with them, keeping their country and mission in mind. They were also exhorted to be creative in incorporating their culture into their study here.

At the fellowship gathering that followed, the students entertained the participants with performances from their native cultures.

The Institute of Formation, Fondacio Asia (IFFAsia) was launched 16 years ago, in 2006. To date, IFFAsia trained more than 200 young men and women from 16 countries to be leaders on mission all around Asia.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
