Empowering future leaders: IFFAsia celebrates the start of batch 16 formation

The Institute of Formation, Fondacio Asia (IFFAsia) launched batch 16 for the school year 2025, marking the beginning of an 11-month formation journey at Radio Veritas Asia Campus, Philippines, on February 2.

The event coincided with the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, symbolizing a commitment to faith, service, and leadership development.

This year, 14 participants (8 women and 6 men) from Mongolia, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, and Timor-Leste embarked on an 11-month formation journey to deepen their faith and leadership skills.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Jesuit Father Enrico C. Eusebio, President of Loyola School of Theology, who delivered a powerful homily centered on three key reflections.

He urged the students to offer their lives in service to humanity and invited them to see reality through the eyes of faith, recognizing God’s presence even in challenges.

He also encouraged them to trust in the hope and fulfillment of God’s promises.

His message inspired the participants to embrace their formation journey with faith, dedication, and a heart for the mission.

During the fellowship, participants highlighted the richness of their cultural heritage through vibrant dances and songs, celebrating the diversity of their backgrounds.

"We gave special recognition to the foster families who generously welcomed them during Christmas and New Year, strengthening a spirit of warmth and community," said a participant.

Additionally, a representative of Batch 15 was awarded a Diploma in Integral Leadership and Community Development, marking their successful completion of the program.

Miss Florence Alexius, IFFAsia director, warmly invited everyone to this special occasion, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to empowering youth and the laity.

Since its founding in 2006, IFFAsia has trained over 250 persons from 16 countries and continues to prepare and send leaders on missions across Asia.

"May this new journey bring deep transformation and a mission for Batch 16," said Alexius.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
