Spiritual nourishment program held in Myanmar
A monthly recollection for all the Commission’s staff of Kalay Diocese took place at Diocesan Pastoral Centre, Kalaymyo, Myanmar on May 27.
It has been more than a couple of years that the diocese could not have monthly recollection for all the staff members.
Father Andrew Go Khan Nang (Director of KMSS, Kalay) called a meeting on May 20 with the Directors of the Commissions namely, Father Raphael Suang Cin Khup (procurator and in charge of all employees in Diocesan Pastoral Centre), Father Joseph Thang Nen Zo Mung (Director of Social Communication and RVA Tedim Chin), Father Paul Lang Muan Lian (Director of Fiat Journal),
Father Joseph Pau Lian Kham (Youth Director).
In that meeting, all the directors of the commission agreed upon having the recollection for all the Commission’s staff members on every last Friday of the month in common.
Following the agreement, the monthly recollection for May was started.
According to the agenda, Father Joseph Zo Mung (Director of Social Communication) gave the talk, inviting all the participants to ponder on the importance of faith in one’s life.
He shared the faith journey of Abraham and Mary the mother of God.
The priest urged all to find truth by explaining the meaning of subjective truth and objective truth and also added the value of office hours and to be punctual according to the timetable.
After his talk, participants had their reflection, confession and Holy Rosary in common, followed by Mass presided by Father Raphael Suang Cin Khup (Procurator and in charge of workers in the Diocese).
In his homily, he highlighted the dignity of work and the importance of the staff of the diocese.
He emphasized the essentiality of cooperation and collaboration.
The priest also talked about the dignity of work referring to the pastoral statement of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, “Work is more than a way of making a living; it is a form of continuing participation in God’s creation.”
Several participants found the event useful and inspiring.
One of the participants Catechist Bernard Thawng Sian Lian said, “We gained not only spiritual nourishment but also unity more among the staff of different commissions.”
With great joy, Father Khuppi (Procurator of the Diocese) said, “If we have enough funds for transportation and meals, we can do our monthly recollection in other parishes in the future.”
Over 40 people including four priests, five nuns and other lay staff took part in the program.
Unfortunately, some other staff members of the Commission for Education and Commission for Health could not participate due to the current political situation in Myanmar. - RVA Tedim Chin Service
