Synod in south India: Walking in Christ’s footsteps for mission
A Synod meeting was held on May 16 at Bishop Grassi Auditorium, Gunadala, Vijayawada Diocese, Andhra Pradesh, South India.
It started at 9 in the morning with the arrival and registration of priests and Synodal coordinators from all the parishes of the diocese.
At the outset, Father M Gabriel, vicar general of the diocese welcomed all the dignitaries, speakers, and participants.
Bishop Thelagathoti Joseph Raja Rao in his opening address mentioned the starting point of this Synod from the perspective of Pope Francis.
Quoting Holy Father, the bishop said, "I dream of a church that is in communion with all the people, a church that walks together realizing, carrying out and living the mission of Christ according to His mind effectively." - Pujitha Yadala, RVA Telugu
