On August 25, 2024, St. Michael's Parish in Karachi came alive with faith and devotion as it hosted the annual rally for 200 altar servers.

This gathering was not just a day of celebration but a profound moment of spiritual renewal for the servers, their teachers, and the entire parish community.

The rally provided a unique opportunity for altar servers to come together, renew their commitment to their sacred calling, and receive spiritual nourishment.

It was a powerful testament to the vibrant faith and dedication that characterizes St. Michael’s Parish.

The day began with a Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Dilawar Samuel, joined by Fr. Barnabas George, Fr. Waqas Brian, Fr. Dawood Javed, Br. Wilson, and Br. Anees.

In his homily, Fr. Brian emphasized the profound significance of the Holy Cross, describing it as a message of consolation for all Catholics.

He explained that through the Eucharist, believers receive the very life of Christ, embodied in His body and blood.

Fr. Brian also reminded the altar servers of their sacred vocation, urging them to follow Christ fully by embracing the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and the Eucharist.

He encouraged them by affirming that their service at the altar is a calling from the Holy Spirit, and their dedication is a powerful witness to the faith.

A highlight of the rally was the blessing and dedication of approximately 30 new altar servers, who joined the ranks of the existing 170 servers from across the parish’s regions.

This moment of dedication was a reflection of the hard work and preparation by the Altar Server teachers, who have nurtured the spiritual growth of these young participants.

The rally was marked by a vibrant procession, with each region proudly carrying its church flag, symbolizing unity and devotion. Parents and parishioners also participated, adding to the sense of community and shared faith.

The event concluded with a Holy Mass and a series of tableaux presented by the four regions, showcasing the creativity and commitment of the parish youth.

In his closing remarks, Fr. George expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the children, parents, teachers, faithful, and the pastoral team for their dedication and participation.

The rally concluded with a final prayer and blessing, leaving everyone inspired and spiritually uplifted.
