Dominican Priest re-elected to lead Pakistan’s Major Superior leadership conference

Fr. Pascal Paulus, OP, was re-elected as the President of the Major Superior Leadership Conference of Pakistan (MSLCP) on November 5, 2024.

On November 5, 2024, the Major Superior Leadership Conference of Pakistan (MSLCP) re-elected Dominican priest Father Pascal Paulus, OP, as its president, marking his third term in this significant leadership role.

Father Pascal Paulus, formerly the Vice Provincial of Ibn-e-Mariam Province of the Dominicans, previously held the MSLCP presidency from 2013 to 2016 and again from 2016 to 2019.

He is highly regarded for his pastoral insight and steadfast commitment to justice and human rights in Pakistan, qualities that have made him an influential leader in the country's Christian community.

Founded by St. Dominic de Guzman in 1216, the Dominican Order is known for its dedication to preaching, teaching, and social advocacy, missions that resonate deeply with Father Paulus's vision for the MSLCP.

The MSLCP, composed of 46 male and female religious congregations working in Pakistan, prioritizes religious freedom, human rights, and social justice, particularly for the country’s Christian minority, which faces numerous social and political challenges.

In addition to its advocacy work, the MSLCP collaborates closely with the Pakistan Catholic Bishops Conference (PCBC) and other partners to address pressing issues facing marginalized communities.

Members of the MSLCP serve as prophetic voices within the Church, challenging dehumanizing forces in society and standing against injustices.

They dedicate themselves to compassionate service, supporting those who struggle for a more just and humane world.

Through their work, they embody the Dominican values of faith and service, offering hope and support to individuals living on the margins of Pakistani society.

RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
