Cambodian Catholics unite in prayer for Pope Francis’ healing

Catholics in Cambodia prayed for Pope Francis’ healing as he remains hospitalized at Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh, led a special Taizé prayer service on February 24, 2025, at St. Peter and Paul Church in Phnom Penh Thmey, with many faithful in attendance.
During his sermon, Bishop Olivier said, “Tonight, we—governors, priests, religious, and the faithful—are united in prayer for the pope’s health.”
He also emphasized the pope’s call to serve with sincerity, love the poor, and recognize the dignity of all people.
Following the prayer, the bishop sent a message to Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, who replied, “We will convey your communion with the Holy Father through his private secretary. Thank you very much...”
According to Vatican News, Pope Francis was admitted to Gemelli Hospital on February 14 with double pneumonia.
On the evening of February 25, the Vatican confirmed that the pope’s condition was stable and rested well.
