Over the past three years, the Christian Institute for Theological Engagement (CHRISTE) and the Splendour Project, a Catholic apostolate, have collaborated to offer academically validated certification training to faith educators appointed in various Catholic dioceses and parishes across the Asian region.
This certification program is entitled “God Redeeming Our World (GROW): A Systematic Study of the Catholic Faith.”
The Diocese of Kohima, Nagaland (in Northeast India), certified the first group of more than 30 faith educators and leaders who met the program's certification requirements.
Bishop James Thoppil of Kohima presented the certificates after celebrating the liturgy at the Church of St. Joseph in Chumoukedima, Dimapur.
Representing CHRISTE, the Cornelius Cardinal Sim Professor of Theology and Dialogue, Rev. Deacon Professor, Dr. Sherman Kuek OFS, was present at this ceremonious occasion to congratulate the graduates of the certification program.
These men will be primary evangelizers of the Catholic faith in various places and collaborate with priests, nuns, and bishops as community leaders and faith educators. They also act as a liaison between people and church leaders.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
