Filipino priest dies in the United States
The Diocese of Legazpi has announced the passing of Father Bernard B. Bañares, a dedicated Filipino priest serving in Louisiana, USA.
Father Bañares, who was a parochial vicar at St. George Church in Baton Rouge, passed away on August 9.
In a statement, the Diocese of Legazpi expressed their sorrow and noted that they await official communication from the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
A memorial Mass for Father Bañares is scheduled in Baton Rouge on August 14 at 8:00 a.m.
Father Bañares, affectionately known as Fr. Bob, leaves behind a legacy of service and faith. His family will announce funeral details at a later date.
The diocese invites the faithful to join in remembering Fr. Bob and to keep his memory alive as a blessing to all who knew him.
