Pope Francis honors Caritas Toledo’s legacy of charity and justice
Pope Francis welcomed a delegation from Caritas Toledo, Spain, as they celebrated 60 years of charitable service in the Vatican on December 6.
In his address, the Pope praised their long-standing commitment to charity, justice, and faith, urging them to continue fostering societal transformation through these values.
Highlighting their mission, Pope Francis noted that their work extends beyond individual assistance, embracing the broader challenge of driving societal change.
"Your dedication spreads the spirit of charity and justice, awakening a more fraternal conscience in all people of goodwill," he said.
The Pope emphasized the universal impact of charitable acts, describing them as both a testament to humanity and a tool for evangelization.
"This language of charity is understood by all, written through the testimony and efforts of all Caritas agents committed to Jesus Christ and His Gospel," he remarked.
He acknowledged the indispensable role of every person involved in socio-charitable action, stressing the importance of both human and spiritual formation.
Pope Francis encouraged collaboration and synodality with all pastoral realities within the diocesan Church to achieve their goals effectively.
Concluding his message, the Pope inspired the delegation with a powerful call: "Be teachers of this wisdom which the world so desperately needs."
