Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, archbishop emeritus of Manila, on Oct. 8, celebrated his 50th episcopal anniversary during a thanksgiving Mass at St. Francis de Sales Theological Seminary in Lipa City in the province of Batangas, according to the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) News.
After years of controversies and different allegations against the Catholic Church priests, the Vatican finally released the 1951 decree rejecting the Lipa apparition in the Philippines.
“In line with our desire to make sure that the physical well-being of our priests and religious are looked into so that they could serve effectively the flock entrusted to their care,” he said.
“Now, we are all called to respond to this collective discernment and to once again contribute to the further enrichment and maturation of the Church's synodal reflections,” said Garcera.
"As archbishop of Lipa, I immediately informed our priests, the nuns at the Carmelite monastery, and the Confraternity of Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace about the letter from the aforementioned dicastery," Garcera said.
