Witnesses to the True Light
September 23, 2024 Monday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time
Memorial of Saint Pius of Pietrelcina, Priest
Daily Readings: Proverbs 3:27-34; Luke 8:16-18
Jesus uses the imagery of light to reveal profound spiritual truths about our faith and mission. He says, “No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they place it on a stand so that those who enter can see the light.”
This metaphor highlights our calling as Christians. God has blessed us with His truth, love, and grace, much like a lamp illuminates a room. Our faith is meant to shine brightly, not be concealed.
The lamp represents the divine revelations, Scriptural truths, communal love, and daily grace we receive. We must not only embrace this light but also share it. Are we reflecting Christ’s light in our lives? How can we better illuminate our families, communities, and the world?
Call to Action for Catholic Living: Let us pray for the courage to boldly witness Christ’s light and for the grace to respond to His calling.
May our lives reflect His love and inspire others to experience the hope we have found in Him. Amen.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
