The Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC) on April 2 officially signed a partnership agreement for the Candidates’ Forum for the 2025 Midterm Elections.

“By bringing together key institutions from media, law enforcement, civil society, and the Church, DWCC reaffirms its commitment to fostering informed and responsible voting within the community,” said its president, Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD.

The groups include the Commission on Elections, the Philippine National Police, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines–Oriental Mindoro Chapter, Sto. Niño Cathedral/National Citizens' Movement for Free Elections, Calapan Cable Center, Inc., Spirit FM, Carl Balita Review Center, and the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan — Commission on Youth.

Also included are the Mindoro Association of Catholic and Indigenous Schools (MACIS) and One Mindoro Association of Higher Education Institutions (OMAHEI), where Tampol is also president.

Meantime, the college celebrates its 79𝘁𝗵 f𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 a𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 this week, which began with a Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Fr. Tampol, concelebrated by its administrators, and participated in by the deans, principal, faculty, employees, students, and parents.

In his homily, he said, “It’s a milestone that reflects God's grace, the unwavering mission of the Divine Word, and the enduring legacy of faith, excellence, and service—DWCC continues to grow."

“From its humble beginnings as Mindoro Junior College, DWCC has evolved into a beacon of Catholic education, forming generations of leaders inspired by the Word of God. We express our gratitude to the Divine Word, the Incarnate One, who continues to guide and sustain this institution,” he said.

Tampol reminded the DWCC community “to live with gratitude, recognizing the gifts we receive each day.”

“The anniversary is not only a celebration of history but also a reaffirmation of our commitment to God’s mission—to appreciate, serve, and grow in faith. With hearts full of thanksgiving, we look forward to the future, embracing our role as stewards of the Divine Word for generations to come,” said DWCC.

A 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 at the DWCC Arnold Janssen Gymnasium also highlighted the anniversary where the unwavering dedication of its esteemed faculty and staff was recognized.

“The awardees were honored not only for the years they have devoted to DWCC, but also for the countless lives they have touched, the knowledge they have shared, and the lasting impact they continue to make. Their loyalty and dedication serve as an inspiration to the entire DWCC community, fostering a legacy of excellence and service,” said DWCC.
