The Greatest Commandments, Love
Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas

September 12, 2024 Thursday of the Twenty-third Week in Ordinary Time
Feast of the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Daily Readings: 1 Corinthians 8:1B-7, 11-13; Luke 6:27-38

Jesus calls us to love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, and offer no resistance to evil. At Calvary, He exemplifies this teaching and God’s unconditional love.

When Jesus urges us to love our enemies, He reveals a heart of mercy, compassion, and a desire for reconciliation. This love is not just a feeling but an active choice that seeks the good of others, even those who oppose us—a love stronger than hatred.

Let Jesus' words challenge us: Who are our enemies? What grudges do we hold? How can we choose love and forgiveness in these situations?

Though it may seem daunting, we are not alone. Through prayer, the sacraments, and our faith community, we find the grace to love beyond our comfort zones.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: As we love our enemies, we reflect God’s grace, transforming hearts—ours included—one act of love at a time.

Let love be our guiding principle in all we do. Amen.
