The church in Jerusalem faced severe persecution, leading to the dispersal of Jesus' followers throughout Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. Saul, who was against Jesus,   dispersed all the people who preached the word of God and even put them in prison.

In the Gospel today, Jesus reminded the people, “I am the bread of life; he that comes to me shall not hunger; and he that believes in me shall never thirst.” He emphasized that He came down from heaven not to do his own will but to do the will of God, who sent him.

It is good to have plans in life. Plans provide direction in life. Just like in Steven Covey's The 7 Habits for Effective People, the number 2 habit is “Begin with the End in Mind." We must create some maps of what we need to achieve and do.

But sometimes we cannot comprehend the will of the Father. We became frustrated because our plan did not work well. We did not achieve what was on our minds.

This is where we need to seek God's help to understand why it is happening. Everything comes with a reason for why it is happening in our lives. If we cannot comprehend it now, we can understand why it happens to us later on. All we need to do is surrender to God's will, for he has a plan for us.

Lord, help us to embrace the will of the Father. Amen!

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
