Embracing God’s Will as Our True Kinship

Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas
    Voiced by: Shirly Benedictos

July 23, Tuesday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Micah 7:14-15, 18-20; Matthew 12:46-50

When Jesus is confronted with a request from His mother and brothers to see Him, He responds by saying that His true family is not defined by blood relations, but by those who do the will of God. He emphasizes that true kinship is rooted in a shared passion for fulfilling God's will.

As followers of Jesus, our identity is not defined by biological relationships. Instead, it is anchored in our relationship with God and our willingness to follow Him. This makes us part of a larger family of believers united by a common purpose and goal.

We are invited to re-examine our understanding of family and community. True belonging is not determined by biology but by our shared commitment to follow Christ.

In seeking to deepen our relationship with God and others, we are called to prioritize doing the will of God and to find our true identity in this shared mission.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: How do we relate to those who do the will of God? Do we see them as brothers and sisters? Rooted in deep communion with God, let us fulfill His will as siblings in Christ, remembering our true identity as sons and daughters of God. Amen.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
