Be faithful to your responsibilities
November 16, Wednesday of the 33rd Week of Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Revelation 4: 1-11, Psalm 150: 1-6, Luke 19: 11-28
We all have responsibilities in our lives, to do our responsibilities with faith and reach our goals in life. But there is a problem: sometimes we can't see our responsibilities as our duties and refuse to do what the authorities tell us to do.
There are two kinds of people among us. Some people are content with whatever responsibility they have been given and strive to use it to their advantage to be successful in life.
They receive more responsibilities. Some of us always want to be in charge and get in the way of other people's work, which keeps us from reaching our goals. We have seen these two kinds of people in today’s reading. We do not know who is worthy to be our authority. We need to understand the will of God and believe in the work of the Holy Spirit.
Now is the time to get to know ourselves and figure out how well we can do our jobs and follow the rules. We can also take care of and improve our own qualities so that we can serve well in our mission work.
Today may we reflect and then ask ourselves, "How am I using my qualities?" Am I sharing my talents with others? Or do I hoard them? Do I believe that I have gifts worth sharing? So, today, may we give thanks for the many gifts and qualities that God has blessed us with!
Let us be faithful to our capabilities and fulfill our responsibilities with faith.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
