May 30, Monday of the Seventh week of Easter
Acts 19:1-8; John 16:29-33;

Being faithful to God gives us the strength to endure every difficulty.

Believing in Jesus does not make you problem-free. Believing in Jesus does not make you free from being misunderstood and maligned.

Indeed, there were times when you were hurt and rejected even though you were doing what was right. If so, you must be thinking of giving up your faith and even asking Jesus why this is happening.

In today's Gospel, Jesus even warns his disciples: "Behold, the hour is coming and has arrived when you will be scattered to your own home and leave me alone."

However, if these hardships, pains, and even rejections happen to you, do not leave Jesus alone, meaning, do not give up your faith in him. Because if you do, you will be totally at a loss.

But Jesus is personally telling you today: "I have told you this so that you might have peace in me." In the lost world, you will have trouble, but take courage; I have conquered the world. "

This Gospel is a firm assurance from Jesus, who has conquered all adversities and negativities. And to make this assurance come to you, Jesus will use people or events to be with you when you need Him most.

Such a situation also occurs in today's First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles. St. Paul was sent to some disciples who were at a loss. And he talked to them about Jesus. "When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus." And from that point on, they belonged to Jesus, who conquered the world.

Maybe this reflection on today's Word of God is God's instrument for you to take courage over your fears. With Jesus, you will have enough strength to overcome your problems and hurts.

And if you do, congratulations! Because you, too, have conquered the world!
