Pakistan Archbishop urges citizens to build a prosperous country

Archbishop Joseph Arshad, Bishop of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Diocese

Archbishop Joseph Arshad, Bishop of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Diocese, inspired the entire population of Pakistan on August 13, 2023, Independence Day (August 14) of Pakistan, to contribute to the country's prosperity and development.

Archbishop Arshad, the President of the Pakistan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (PCBC), congratulated all Pakistanis and the entire nation on the occasion of their 76th independence day.

"On this day, we should also remember our ancestors who sacrificed their blood for independence," said Archbishop.

He said, "People today fill their hearts and souls with feelings of love, peace, and prayer to celebrate the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan."

According to him, Christian leadership also played a significant role in Pakistan's freedom movement. Even after Independence, the Christian community continued to serve the nation zealously in all areas, especially in health, education, and social services, which are still active today.

Arshad advised that at this time when their nation is confronting numerous obstacles, they should all work together to transform Pakistan into a prosperous and exemplary nation.

He prayed that God would continue to bestow His bounties on our nation and grant us the spirit to work together for its growth and prosperity, so that we may all live as one nation in peace, harmony, and love.
