Sisters of Charity join worldwide campaign to pray the rosary

The Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Good and Perpetual Succour (BPS)-Philippine mission,  joined “A million children praying Rosary” for peace and unity in response to the Catholic organization,  the Church in Need (ACN) as part of the worldwide campaign of prayer to defeat evil in our society.

The BPS community in Manila, the Philippine capital, organized a creative and meditative Rosary via zoom on October 18. Thirty-three persons from various countries attended the prayer service. The prayer focused on the theme: “When One Million Children Pray the Rosary, the World will Change” – a thought from Saint Padre Pio.

Prayer strengthens unity in the Church and among all the peoples. Praying together helps us focus on the needs of the world and bring before God the intentions of the many oppressed and badly treated people around the world.

Fr. George Plathottam, SDB, Executive Secretary  of Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences, joined the event and shared a brief message. He highlighted the work of the Pontifical organization called the Aid to the Church in Need,  based in Germany, and its contribution to the universal mission of the Church through helping the local churches carry out its pastoral services.

Sister Ingkie Veloz Taboclaon, who works with the Office of Social Communication, took the initiative to organize the Rosary service in which members of her Congregation from different communities across the world, friends and devotees of Our Lady from Manila and the locality, including children, participated. The prayers were in English, Spanish, French and Italian, while a number of Filipino children responded to the Hail Mary’s in the local language, Tagalog.

The event was a true witness to the power of prayer and the unity of the Catholic church and devotion to the Blessed Mother in the month of Rosary.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
