Karachi Archbishop lauds Catholic youth group’s innovative initiatives in Pakistan

A group of Catholic youth running Divine Hope Pakistan, an NGO, has received praise from Archbishop Benny Mario Travas of Karachi.

On March 13, the delegation team of Divine Hope Pakistan met the archbishop at St. Patrick's Cathedral, apprising him of various initiatives the NGO has undertaken for the last three years.

“In a heartfelt gathering, Divine Hope Foundation had the honor of sharing our three-year journey and upcoming plans with Archbishop Benny Mario Travas of Karachi,” said an official of the foundation. “We discussed impactful initiatives, from community outreach to empowering youth, and outlined our vision for 2024 and beyond.”

The Divine Hope Foundation was glad to celebrate milestones and share some achievements with the archbishop.

Having met the representatives of the Divine Hope Foundation, Archbishop Benny conveyed his sincere appreciation for their commitment as young Catholic lay missionaries, emphasizing the importance of their work.

The prelate bestowed the Episcopal blessing upon the team, filling their hearts with divine grace and motivation.

“Under the guidance of Archbishop Benny's support, we are committed to making a lasting impact because of Catholic faith, compassion, unity, and service in Pakistan,” said a member of the Divine Hope Foundation.

The mission outreach of Catholic Divine Retreat Center Ministries, UK, serves as the foundation.

The goal of the Divine Hope Foundation is to improve Pakistani youth by providing them with education, employment opportunities, and technical skill development. This would enable them to support their families, become skilled, and financially independent.

In Pakistan, a country with most Muslims and a small Christian population, the organization assists young people from all walks of life.

For young people (aged 18 to 40), the Divine Hope Foundation hosts several short- and long-term trainings, workshops, and seminars to help them develop a variety of skills that will enable them to find employment in a variety of fields and make a positive impact on society through their work and service.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
