The Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia opened its AOHD (Archdiocesan Office for Human Development) Summit 2025 on March 21.
The AOHD Summit 2025 is happening from March 21 to 24.
On day 1 (March 21), the AOHD Summit 2025 began with an opening Mass celebrated by Archbishop Julian Leow Beng Kim, Papal Nuncio Archbishop Wojciech Załuski, and Jesuit Bishop Enrique Figaredo Alvargonzález, Prefect of Battambang, Cambodia.
New members were commissioned during the Mass. The summit was officially launched with inspiring speeches from Fr. Albert Arokiasamy and Dr. Gary Liew expressing his gratitude.
The day's program featured impactful talks, with Fr. George Harrison reflecting on ‘My Mission on This Earth.’ Bishop Alvargonzález offered insights on ‘The Conversion and New Perspective,’ and Dr. Yoong from Crest shared valuable perspectives on ‘The Role of the Church in Disaster Areas.’
It was a day filled with faith, mission, and vision for the future.
In the forthcoming workshops, Sr. Salverina would share about the ‘Art of Listening’ and Mdm. Geraldine from the Catholic Ministry of the Deaf educating us about ‘Prayers in Sign Language.
The summit is held as part of Lent with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope” by immersing in works of mercy, encountering fellow pilgrims, praying as one church, and experiencing the Jubilee Year—all in one place.
