Indian Catholic Youth Movement to launch annual Feed a Friend Christmas Campaign
The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) is launching its annual Feed a Friend Christmas Campaign.
“In past years, the generous support of donors has brought countless smiles and joy to those in need during the Christmas season,” said Father Chetan Machado, advisor of ICYM.
Through people’s kindness, ICYM has provided warm meals to families facing food insecurity, distributed gifts and essential items to underprivileged children, and created festive celebrations that bring the community together, Machado shared.
“Support local families experiencing hardship during the holy season and ensure no one in our community feels forgotten during Christmas,” he added.
As the Christmas season nears, ICYM invites people to join again in making Christmas special for those who need it most.
“People’s contributions, no matter the size, can help create lasting memories and bring hope to families in our community,” said Machado.
Established in 1985, ICYM is a parochial youth movement under the aegis of the Conference of Catholic Bishops in India (CCBI) Commission for Youth.
It operates in 700 districts through 14 regions and 132 dioceses. It is an organization for the Catholic youth from the Latin rite of the Christian community across India.
ICYM organizes youth development programs and helps Catholic youth to understand their faith better and witness it to others with commitment and compassion.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
