India: ZCLLC Publishes final edition of the Zou Missal
The Zou Catholic Literature and Liturgical Committee (ZCLLC) released the third and final edition of the Zou Missal (Nipi Niteng Mass Siengthou Latna) on February 3, 2025, at St. Luke's Chapel, Zoveng, under Good Shepherd Parish, Lamka, India.
The missal was launched by Fr. Mark Aimeng, the sole author of all three editions, in the presence of ZCLLC, Zou Catholic Union, and the St. Luke Chapel Catholic community.
Pu Peter Khammeng, General Secretary of ZCLLC, shared that the initiative began with ZCLLC, and after multiple executive meetings, Fr. Mark Aimeng was unanimously chosen to lead the project.
Fr. Mark dedicated his time and resources to completing the missal without any financial support from ZCLLC.
In 2011 and 2017, he authored the first and second Zou Missal editions, which received approval despite their limited content.
Michael Ginzasuan, ZCLLC treasurer, expressed deep gratitude to Fr. Mark Aimeng for his dedication and selfless contribution in producing this well-equipped, organized, and user-friendly final edition.
The latest version features a larger format, fewer pages, and complete wording, ensuring clarity and ease of use.
Aside from the Zou Missal, Fr. Mark also served as the chief translator of the Zou Hymnal Book, released in 2023 at St. Thomas' Parish, Singngat, in collaboration with ZCLLC.
Fr. Mark Aimeng was ordained as a Catholic priest on December 16, 1983, at St. Joseph's Parish, Sugnu, which was tragically burned down during the Manipur conflict on June 2, 2023. He is the founder and former director of RVA ZO SERVICE, which he led for 26 years.
A multi-talented priest, he is also a musician, songwriter, composer, singer, and writer, having authored numerous books on Catholic prayers and hymns. He currently serves as the associate pastor of St. Mary's Parish, Tuibuang.
