Combodia: Phnom Penh Diocese Mourns the Passing of Pope Francis

With profound sorrow and reverence, the Apostolic Vicariate of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, announces the passing of Pope Francis, the Sovereign Pontiff of the Universal Church, on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025.
Francis’ life of humility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel left an indelible mark on the Church and the world.
His legacy continues to inspire faith, hope, and love in all corners of the globe. In the light of the Paschal Mystery, the Vicariate entrusts his soul to God’s infinite mercy and the joy of resurrection.
A Pontifical Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler, Apostolic Vicar of Phnom Penh, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the Phnom Penh Pastoral Center of the Catholic Church.
All faithful clergy and people of goodwill are invited to unite in prayer and remembrance.
A memorial room will also be open to the public at the Pastoral Center Catholic Church in Phnom Penh Thmey on:
