After Mass in St. Peter's Square on September 2, Pope Francis opened the second session of the General Assembly of the Synod by calling for a day of prayer and fast on October 7, the one-year anniversary of the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
"Without justice, the law of the prevalence of the strong over the weak is entrenched. The righteous person is upright, simple and straightforward, does not wear masks and speaks the truth," said the Holy Father.
