Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles John Brown invited the faithful to remember Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to the place in Bethlehem where God would give Jesus to the world.
On August 31, 2024, Bishop Julito Buhisan Cortes of Dumaguete presented to the media the nine papal awardees of the diocese for their dedicated service to the Church.
"For us Catholics, it is not a matter of choosing the sacramental life of the Church versus popular piety... It is never a question of choosing one," said Archbishop Charles John Brown.
