Pope Francis has named Msgr. Simon Ok Hyun-jin, Archbishop of Gwangju (South Korea). He was currently the auxiliary of the same Archdiocese. He succeeds Archbishop Hyginus Hee-joong Kim who resigned on November 19 from the pastoral care of the Archdiocese.
