Pope Francis approved Mar Raphael Thattil (67), Bishop of Shamashabad, as the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church in the Synod of Bishops.

Father Mathai Kadavil is chosen as Bishop of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of St. Ephrem of Khadki.

Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Bishop Bosco Puthur and appointed Father John Panamthottathil of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation as the new bishop of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Diocese of Melbourne, Australia.

Global Winners of the Syro-Malabar Mission Quest, an online quiz competition on the mission, announced. The winners were chosen from over 10,000 participants from the 35 Syro-Malabar Dioceses worldwide.
