When God calls, He prepares the best for us
June 24, Saturday of the 11th week in Ordinary Time
Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist
Each of us here on earth is made for a purpose. Thousands of babies are born daily, and a bright future awaits. No matter how God prepares a good future for us, we are still free to follow whatever path we want.
Today’s reading shows God's deepest desire towards Isaiah; he was called by God from his mother’s womb, chosen to foretell the Messiah's coming, and brought hope to God’s people Israel during a challenging time.
On the other hand, we have John the Baptist, who was chosen to be an instrument to bring many people in Israel back to their God. He was sent to prepare the Lord's way by preparing the people's hearts for Jesus' coming.
Like the prophets Isaiah and John the Baptist, God calls and chooses us for a purpose and mission. What is God’s deepest desire for you and me? A gradual unfolding will be part of the process. Wait for it and discern every diverged path that might appear on your way. When God calls, He prepares the best for us.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
