The King of Babylon completely took over Jerusalem. They captured King Zedekiah, killed his sons before his eyes, and then blinded him. They exiled the people of Jerusalem, except for the poor and the farmers.
In today's Gospel, Jesus performed a miracle of healing on a leper who approached Him, paying homage and asking to be cleansed.
Out of mercy, Jesus extended His hands to heal the leper and instructed him to show himself to the priest and bring the offering that Moses required.
One of the key ministries of Jesus was the ministry of healing. Most of those He healed came from the outcast and poor sectors of society.
What is particularly admirable about the leper is his initiative to approach, pay homage, and ask Jesus for healing. His desire to be cured was very evident.
Healing often comes from an innermost desire and a strong will to be cured. Without willpower, healing can be difficult.
Recovery requires a lot of courage, energy, and effort to follow rehabilitation treatment diligently.
Call to Action for Catholic Living: It is observed that those with strong willpower recover faster compared to those who do not follow the rehabilitative regimen.
Lord, help us to strengthen our willpower to live fully. Amen.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
