Caritas Japan starts accepting donations for Myanmar Earthquake Relief.

Earthquake damage in Myanmar: Buddhist temples and houses collapsed after the March 28, 2025, quake.

Caritas Japan, the Catholic Church’s social development agency, has started accepting donations for “Myanmar Earthquake Relief.”

A major earthquake struck central Myanmar on March 28, and Myanmar's military administration announced 2,886 confirmed deaths by April 2.

Many people are still missing, and the death toll and injuries are expected to continue to rise.

There is also a serious situation with a shortage of basic supplies, including food, clothing, and housing.

Caritas Japan has decided to accept "Myanmar Earthquake Relief Funds," taking into account the disaster situation caused by the earthquake.

People’s donations will go toward relief efforts in affected areas.

Caritas Japan is one of the partners of Caritas International, a global confederation of Catholic charities.

It is a global confederation of 162 national Caritas organizations working in over 200 countries and territories.

It promotes peace, economic justice, and human welfare, with a focus on ending poverty and restoring dignity, besides aiding humanitarian crises and emergencies.
