July 31, Wednesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time
Memorial of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Priest
Daily Readings: Jeremiah 15:10, 16-21; Matthew 13:44-46

Today, we commemorate St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus. Born into Spanish nobility and trained as a cavalry officer, Ignatius underwent a profound conversion after a severe battle injury.

Renouncing his military career, he dedicated his life to God, eventually becoming a priest. He founded the Jesuits, emphasizing discernment, contemplation, and service.

Today's Gospel parables of the treasure and the pearl illustrate that the kingdom of heaven is worth everything.

In a world obsessed with materialism, Jesus teaches that true joy comes from finding God, our ultimate treasure.

Inspired by St. Ignatius, may we live lives rooted in prayer, service, and joy. Let us embrace our unique callings with courage and humility.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: Pray for a deep hunger and thirst for God's presence, willing to give up anything for His sake.

Let us offer our lives for the greater glory of God. Amen.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
