Healing Beyond the Physical

Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas
    Voiced by: Shirly Benedictos

September 4, 2024 Wednesday of the Twenty-second Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: 1 Corinthians 3:1-9; Luke 4:38-44

In the Gospel, Jesus heals Simon’s mother-in-law, who is gravely ill with a fever. With a single rebuke, the fever leaves her, and she immediately rises to serve.

This encounter is more than just physical healing—it reveals the transformative power of Christ’s touch. Her response, motivated by gratitude, is to actively engage in service and faith.

When Jesus heals, He invites us to become participants in His mission of love. His compassionate response to suffering extends to all who seek Him, offering not just healing, but also a call to action.

In our modern world, where many are burdened by illness, despair, and life’s struggles, we too have areas that need His healing touch—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.
As we bring our needs to Him in prayer, we are reminded that our deepest desire is for wholeness and connection.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: Inspired by Christ’s example, let us seek Him in our struggles, embrace His healing, and become channels of His love for a world longing for light and life. Amen.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
