Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas

August 13, Tuesday of the Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Daily Readings: Ezekiel 2:8-3:4; Matthew 18:1-5, 10, 12-14

In today’s Gospel, Jesus answers the question of who is the greatest in heaven. He teaches that to enter the kingdom of heaven, one must become like little children, characterized by humility and simplicity.

He warns us to care for the little ones, as they are guarded by angels, and illustrates His mission through the parable of the lost sheep, emphasizing that He came to seek and save the lost.

Becoming like little children is a call to humility and simplicity. Children are innocent, trusting, and dependent on others for their well-being.

As children of God, we must approach Him with childlike faith, acknowledging our dependence on Him and our need for His guidance.

The will of the heavenly Father is that no one should be lost, and He sent His Son to seek the lost and the least.

Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross demonstrates His obedience to the Father and His love for us, affirming that we are all precious in God’s eyes.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: We are all great and equal in heaven as children of God. Let us approach our heavenly Father with humility and love.

May God give us strength in our spiritual journey to become like little children. Amen.
