In the exhausting modern lifestyle, the words of Jesus offer incredible comfort and reassurance. He extends an invitation to find rest and refuge: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Amid the busyness of chasing after daily needs—food, medicine, jobs, studies—people often lose their peace of mind, feel heaviness in their hearts, and experience restlessness in their souls.

In these moments, God is the perfect resting place, akin to a mother's comforting embrace. In His presence, we feel loved, forgiven, accepted, and recognized.
Jesus describes Himself as “gentle and humble in heart.” This invites us to reflect on our own hearts and souls. How do we describe ourselves? Are our hearts gentle and humble like His?

Call to Action for Catholic Living: Do our words comfort or hurt our neighbors? Do we encourage or discourage others with our speech? Let us reflect on our words and the state of our hearts.

Let us pray to Jesus to make our hearts like His so that we may find true rest for our hearts and souls in His presence. Amen.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
