The Diocese of Cubao Lay Formation Ministry is set to hold a General Assembly for Pastoral Approach to Rehabilitation and Formation (PAREFORM) in Quezon City, Philippines.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the 10th floor of the Obispado de Cubao Building, located at 41 Lantana St., Cubao, Quezon City.

This assembly aims to gather a diverse group of participants, including Parish Priests, Parish Pastoral Council, Lay Coordinators, and Parish Formation Ministry Coordinators, for focused reflection, discussion, and planning.

The event will also provide updates on PAREFORM's work since its inception in 2017 and discuss a crucial partnership between the church and local government to assist those affected by drug abuse through the UBAS program (Ugnayang Barangay at Simbahan or Collaboration of State and Church).

The assembly underscores the diocese's unwavering commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive approach to pastoral care and lay formation within the community.

"We urge you to participate in revitalizing UBAS in your parishes," stated Fr. Luisito O. Caupayan, Chairman of the PAREFORM Commission.

Fr. Caupayan emphasized the meaningful partnership with the Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse Advisory Council (QCADAAC), highlighting their provision of psycho-social rehabilitation through the Community-Based Rehab Program, complemented by PAREFORM's focus on providing psycho-spiritual rehabilitation.

"They provide psycho-social rehabilitation through their Community-Based Rehab Program and we provide psycho-spiritual rehab through PAREFORM," Caupayan explained.

Key individuals expected to attend the General Assembly include Honorable Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City, Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, Sec. Benjamin Abalos, Jr. of the Department of Interior and Local Government, and Bishop Honesto Ongtioco DD of Cubao Diocese.

Attendees can look forward to a comprehensive program designed to impart key updates and engage in strategic discussions to enhance the effectiveness of the ministry work.

This assembly serves as a significant opportunity for the Diocese's leaders and lay members to unite, exchange insights, and fortify their collective efforts in pastoral formation and rehabilitation.

The Diocese of Cubao eagerly anticipates strong participation and expects fruitful outcomes from the General Assembly.
