Myanmar Loikaw Diocese receives its new shepherd
Pope Francis appointed Monsignor Celso Ba Shwe as the Bishop of Loikaw Diocese, Myanmar, on March 29.
On December 21, 2020, Msgr. Celso Ba Shwe was elected as the Diocesan Administrator after the death of Bishop Stephen Tjephe, Bishop of Loikaw.
He served as the General Procurator of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Myanmar (CBCM) from 2000 to 2009.
Msgr. Celso Ba Shwe was the pastor of “Christ the King Cathedral” and Vicar General of Loikaw Diocese in Myanmar from 2010 to 2020.
He was born on July 22, 1964, in the village of Momblo, in the Taungngu Diocese, Myanmar.
He was ordained priest on April 16, 1994, in the Diocese of Loikaw.
