Cambodia: Prefecture of Battambang holds football tournament
To promote sportsmanship, understanding, and solidarity in society, the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang in Cambodia organized a football tournament for youth on May 14.
The program is organized to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the appointment of Governor Tep Chanpiseth as the head of the Catholic Community of Battambang village.
The opening ceremony of the Bishop Cup football tournament of Governor Tep Chanpiseth was held on May 14 organized by Bishop Cup Football Commission.
There were athletes from other communities participating in the competition, a total of 16 teams and 8 women's teams.
Bishop Enrique Figaredo Alvargonzalez, the Apostolic Prefect of Battambang, who is also known as the Bishop of the Wheelchairs for his humanitarian assistance in Cambodia spoke at the opening ceremony and encouraged the players.
Several local government officials, parents, and soccer-fun people attended the event.
