Philippines: The 7th Word Conference set to take place in November
The 7th Word Conference is scheduled for November 30, 2024, under the theme “Praying the Word of God: ‘Lord, teach us to pray’ (Luke 11:1).”
The conference is aligned with Pope Francis’ Jubilee Year in 2025 and emphasizes the importance of the Word as a source of life and spiritual growth.
“The event continues our mission to proclaim the Word as our source of life,” said Anne Dayandante, one of the event organizers. She noted that the theme is especially relevant in light of the approaching Jubilee Year, which invites deeper reflection on prayer and spiritual renewal.
The one-day hybrid conference, which will be held both in-person and online, features renowned speakers including Fr. Emil D. Valeza, Sr. Bernardita Dianzon, FSP, Fr. Arlo Yap, SVD, and Fr. Stuart Patrick Chalmers.
The sessions will delve into the transformative faith of women in the Bible, highlighting how even brief encounters with the Word can profoundly impact their lives.
Organized by the Bible Commission of the Claretian Missionaries in the Philippines, the conference aims to serve as a platform for anyone eager to engage with the Word.
“This event is open to all who wish to listen to and interact with the Word through Claretian Communications Foundation, Inc., and Claret School of Quezon City,” Dayandante added.
The conference will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Hall, Claret School of Quezon City, near Manila. For more information and registration details, visit the official website at www.wordcon.ph.
Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.” Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
