Myanmar Cardinal joins Pope in consecrating Ukraine to Mary
In adherence to Pope Francis’ call in praying for peace in Ukraine-Russia, Myanmar Cardinal held a prayer service in St. Mary Cathedral, Yangon, on March 25.
Cardinal Charles Bo together with his two auxiliary bishops and the Catholics of the Yangon Archdiocese lead the act of consecration to Immaculate Heart of Mary at 10:30 pm (local time).
At the beginning of the prayer service, the Cardinal read out the message of the Pope which makes the people understand why the act of consecration is made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
He invited the participants to make their prayer for peace in Myanmar too since the nation encounters the political turmoil to which the solution seems to be still far away.
In joining Pope Francis for peace in Ukraine and Russia, the prayer service in the night of Myanmar comprises of Marina Hymns, Rosary, and Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which is translated into Myanmar language.
The intention for peace in Myanmar was also added to the consecration prayer.
When asked how he feels or what he has anything to say on this occasion of prayer service, Father Hyginus Myint Soe, the parish priest of St Mary’s Cathedral said that all the problems will be solved when the time comes.
Mother Mary knows all that is happening currently, he added.
Thousands of Catholics in different countries followed the events through live-streaming of the Office of Social Communication of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Myanmar (CBCM-OSC).
