Indian priest receives Best Social Worker Award 2025

A Catholic missionary priest in the Diocese of Kohima, in the northeastern Indian state of Nagaland, received the Best Social Worker Award 2025 on March 18.

Father Dr. C.P. Anto, principal of North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) and director of Peace Channel, has been honored with the Best Social Worker Award 2025.

This prestigious recognition was conferred upon him on World Social Work Day 2025 by Bishop Heber College (Autonomous), Tiruchirapalli, and Madras Christian College (Autonomous), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, south India.

Bishop Heber College is a religious minority educational institution established by the Tiruchirappalli – Thanjavur Diocese of the Church of South India (CSI), a Christian denomination. Also, Madras Christian College is a minority educational institution.

The award acknowledges Anto's exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment to serving others, making a profound impact on countless lives.

This outstanding achievement is a testament to his commitment to social development and promotion of peace in Nagaland, besides his dedication to mentoring and educating future social workers and peace activists.
