India: National Lawyers' Forum of Religious and Priests vow to be a voice of the voiceless

The National Lawyers' Forum of Religious and Priests was held at Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, south India, from December 6 to 8, 2024.

Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera of Eluru and the Apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam hosted the event.

More than 100 lawyers from different States participated in the event.

“Coming together, living together, sharing, and deciding together really energized us for better future performance,” said Sister Jessy Kurian, an advocate at the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi.

“The three-day event concluded with various decisions including strengthening our commitment in rendering legal assistance to the needy whose human and fundamental Rights are violated and to become a voice of the voiceless,” the nun added.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
